Ayurveda give importance for the care of mother at every phase of her life specially when it comes to antenatal and postnatal care.In Ayurveda proper dietary regimen,living style and other required management for whole pregnancy and upto 6 months after delivery is adviced.

SUTIKA PARICHARYA

The mother should be given a rejuvenating body massage with warm oils every morning, followed by hot water bath. This helps to relieve the postnatal back ache and joint pain. In case of caesarean delivery massage can be given only after two weeks.

Belly Binding

Belly should be tightly wrapped with a long cotton cloth or belt after bath for minimum of 5-6 hrs a day, this provides excellent support for the back and the abdomen,susbsides the gas formation in the uterine cavity,prevents back ache and sagging of belly post delivery. Baby care: The baby should be massaged with medicated oil for 45 mins-1 hr. This helps the baby for proper digestion, circulation and gaining weight.
